Roborock’s CES 2025 Launch Robo Arm for Picking Up Toys and Socks
Roborock has debuted one of the most innovative robot vacuum cleaners at CES 2025. This cutting-edge device succeeds the popular S8 MaxV Pro Ultra, and although it appears similar to previous Roborock models, it comes with a game-changing feature that sets it apart.
The standout addition is a mechanical robotic arm named OmniGrip, designed to autonomously lift and clear obstacles that would have otherwise paused cleaning. The new vacuum also features Roborock’s StarSight Autonomous System 2.0, offering enhanced navigation and mapping for a smoother cleaning experience.
What is the Roborock OmniGrip?
The Roborock Saros Z70 is equipped with OmniGrip, a compact five-axis robotic arm integrated into its 7.98 cm frame. It’s armed with high-precision sensors, a camera, and an LED light. When not in use, the arm remains neatly folded inside the vacuum. Upon detecting an obstacle, it deploys automatically, extending vertically and horizontally to move objects out of the way.
OmniGrip can lift objects weighing up to 300 grams, making it ideal for items like socks, tissues, and small toys. While the Saros Z70 continues its regular vacuuming tasks, it identifies and marks areas with obstacles, revisiting them later to clean missed spots thoroughly. Though this method may take slightly longer, it ensures no areas are left uncleaned.
This feature is turned off by default but can be activated through the Roborock app, where users can fine-tune how OmniGrip interacts with specific items. Additionally, safety measures, such as a child lock and an emergency stop button, ensure the arm operates securely.

Roborock Saros Z70 also features a new navigation system
Roborock has equipped the Saros Z70 with its latest StarSight Autonomous System 2.0, improving environmental awareness and obstacle detection. The vacuum uses a traditional Laser Distance Sensor (LDS) module for precise navigation, enhanced by newly introduced dual-light 3D Time-of-Flight (ToF) sensors and high-resolution RGB cameras.
Leveraging artificial intelligence, the Saros Z70 can identify up to 108 different types of obstacles, including socks, toys, and other household items. This next-gen AI-powered navigation system ensures greater accuracy in mapping and cleaning efficiency.
Beyond its advanced obstacle-handling capabilities, the Saros Z70 boasts an industry-leading 22,000 Pa suction power, placing it among the most powerful robot vacuums available. It also incorporates Roborock’s signature dual anti-tangle system, a FreeFlow main brush, and a liftable FlexiArm Riser side brush to prevent hair from clogging the vacuum during operation.
Roborock plans to launch the Saros Z70 in the first half of 2025, promising another leap forward in home cleaning technology.
Other Roborock Models Announced
Roborock also introduced two new models: the Saros 10 and Saros 10R.
- The Saros 10R is specifically designed for cleaning under low-clearance furniture. Unlike the Z70, it doesn’t have a retractable LDS module, allowing it to maintain an ultra-slim 3.14-inch height for better access to tight spots. This model is expected to hit the market later in 2025.
- The Saros 10, on the other hand, comes with the same 22,000 Pa suction power as the Z70 and will be available for purchase starting this month.
